I downloaded a few shows in flac format. I use FLACTunes on Mac to convert to .m4a. Usually the flac files are tagged properly. This collection of shows is not. I downloaded Just the flac files. Do I need to find or add another file from the collection for FLACTunes to be able to read metadata ie song title and artist? I usually don't have issues with collections I download from archive. Is there already a post that directly answers this?

If the uploader does not tag the FLAC files, they will not have tags. The FLAC files are left as the user uploaded them, with whatever tags are included, or not included.

Do you have a specific example of a show I can look at to be sure they don't have any tags?

Yea. The 2016 JRAD Brooklyn Bowl shows. The 24bit recordings. 2015 24 bit were tagged, but the 2016 shows don't seem to be. I haven't had time to download the 16 bit to see if they are tagged. I was just curious about how it worked.

These shows?

Those FLACs don't have tags so the uploader must not have tagged them before uploading them.

Yep, no tags included in the uploaded FLAC files. Easy enough for you to tag them for your own use.

I could just google how to tag flac files, yeah? Do I need any special application? I'd be using a MacBook Pro mid 2012. Thanks for your input/info.

I'm a Windows user, but the one utility I hear Mac users talk about is xACT - http://xact.scottcbrown.org/

Lots of others are out there, but I don't have any experience with them.

It was super easy. I found a program called Kid3. It's a brilliant program and works flawlessly. If anything this taught me how to tag files. Thanks for your feedback.

If you want me to check, you will need to provide the specific links to the shows.
